![]() ![]() My goal was to create a setting-relevant party, but also to create an effective one. However, having always had this mindset, I always think pretty far ahead when I'm planning my character's in infinity engine games. ![]() This was a long project, and it turned out not to work very well as the import into Neverwinter Nights was incredibly bad and wasn't supported in future patches and such, plus there were lots of glitches with the later releases of Icewind Dale II and Baldur's Gate II - Throne of Bhaal. So much so, that I once aspired to try to use the same character through all of them, seeing as it's possible to import a character from either Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale into Neverwinter Nights (which I guess isn't really an infinity engine game at all). I think a bard/sorcerer pair is really good for covering your arcane spells, and it gives the bard something to do after he uses up his abilities.I've always been a fan of the infinity engine games. ![]() It makes ridiculously difficult dungeons like Dragon's Eye much more manageable, since you have a very limited selection of spells and equipment before you clear the end of it.Īnd especially for HOF mode, you need as much CC and buffs as you can manage, far more than just raw damage. Sorcerer just circumvents that and learns whatever spell naturally as long as you attain the lvl, sometimes hours before you're meant to find the scroll. The only reason mages in this game aren't disgustingly OP like they were in baldur's gate is that scrolls are limited, and are scripted when you are supposed to learn certain spells. It wasn't in the original and was just added in the EE. Sorcerer is gamebreakingly strong in this game and is probably the strongest class of all, especially in harder difficulties. I’m concerned about the scrolls in this game. I could get a much higher STR than my current swashbuckler > fighter has, and therefore each axe-hit would hurt a lot more. The berserker/mage would deal a lot more damage. If I switch to using a sling to help in combat, I lose those bonus dagger spells. I’m only considering it because my sorcerer does very little now that he’s found the daggers that add spells. ![]() I’m not sure if I’d really like that berserker over the sorcerer. I’ve considered switching things up a bit.įighter 7> cleric dual wield flails/slingīerserker 9> wizard throwing axe/dual axes in melee Dual axes and longswords in melee, but usually just uses returning throwing axe I’ve been playing this game with HoF mode installed from level 1 on.
